Electrical Trades

Electrical Student.jpgElectrical Trades Technology introduces you to a variety of career opportunities in the electrical trades whether it is in electrical installation or maintenance, residential or commercial wiring, machine repair or some other aspect of electricity.

We provide a combination of technical training and real world experience so that potential employers need not worry about your level experience - you will come to them prepared to work.

This course takes place for one full-time semester in Grade 11 and one full-time semester in Grade 12. You will spend time in the classroom attaining skills and learning theory needed to get started and under the guidance of supervisors and experienced electricians, you will cover topics like motor controls, alternating and direct current fundamentals, electrical and power tool safety, residential and commercial wiring practices as well as becoming familiar with the Canadian Electrical Code.

Students will be learning in the new facility developed by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers on Notre Dame Ave.

Upon completion of this program you will earn a minimum of eight high school credits as well as the possibility of Level One electrician accreditation.
