Q: What age do you have to be to go to EDGE?
A: EDGE is for Middle Year Students so ages 11-14.
Q: What schools does EDGE offer sessions?
A: EDGE is offered in 9 of our Seven Oaks Schools

Q: How long is each class?
A: Each class is 2 hours and 15 minutes long.
Q: How long is each session?
A: Each session is 7-8 weeks long.
Q: Can I sign my child up for more than one session?
A: Yes students can sign up for more than one class per session. Please make sure the days are not going to conflict.
Q: How can I only see the courses at my child's school?
A: Use the search catagories and select your child's school from the Limit to Location field.
Q: What can I do, I don't see the course I want at my child's school?
A: If you are looking for a particular course that is not offered at your school you can select that course at another school, however, your child must be able to get to the school on time and one their own (as transportation is not provided). If you use the search to Limit to Location this will reduce the courses available so you might want to select All Locations.
Q: Can I sign my child up at any school?
A: Yes, however, your child must be able to get to the school on time and one their own (as transportation is not provided).
Q: How often does EDGE run?
A: EDGE programming runs 3 sessions during the school year (Winter, Spring, and Fall).
Q: How will I know when registration opens?
A: A brochure will be sent home either via email or your student and it will be posted on our website, and through our Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Q: Is the credit card registration secure?
A: Yes, Seven Oaks School Division uses a reputable third-party to take the payment type and credit card information. Seven Oaks School Division does not retain any credit card information for online registrations.
Q: I missed registering my child for EDGE is there any way I can register late?
A: Please contact Penny Raymond at 204-227-7136 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. If there is room in the session she may be able to register your child.
Q: What is expected of my child at the sessions?
A: A behaviour guideline must be signed by all participants. This guideline will be referred to in order the deal with a student. Click here to view the Behaviour Guidelines.
Q: What if my child cannot be in pictures or videos?
A: All students are required to return a Photo/Video Release Form For Minors. Click here to view the form.
Q: How do I register my child?
A: EDGE is only accepting online registration. The initial registration requires a few steps but future registration will be quicker. Click here to visit our Registration Procedures page.
Q: My child used to bring a booklet home, how come he/she did not bring one home this time?
A: In an effort to minimize printing we have gone to a more online version. Each classroom has a booklet for the students to review however if you want to review an online list select Courses or if you prefer to review a digital copy of the booklet click here.
Q: Is it a guarantee that the session I signed my child up for will run?
A: No, programs are offered depending upon enrollment. If there is low registration a session may be cancelled or combined with another school.
Q: I received an email saying my session was cancelled due to low enrollment now what?
A: You may be able to register for the same course offered at another school or you can check back as it may be offered again in a different session (winter, spring, fall).
Q: My child's session was cancelled how do I get my money back?
A: When a session is cancelled you will receive a cheque in the mail from the Seven Oaks School Division within a month.
Q: My child cannot attend one of the classes do I need to let someone know?
A: Yes please notify your child's instructor if they will not be in class.
Q: I need to cancel my child's registration for a course, what do I do?
A: We appreciate you cancelling your child out of a course just in case there is another child on the waiting list. You have up one week after the course begins to withdraw and receive a 100% refund. To cancel please visit Registration Procedures and follow the steps.
Q: I have printed my Photo Release Form and my Behaviour Policy Form what do I do with them now?
A: Please send them with your child to their first class.
Q: Is transportation provided for my child?
A: Transporation is not provided by EDGE with the only exception being to the Adopt-a-Grandparent program.
