SOSD STEAMFest 2025!
SOSD STEAMFest 2025 was a dynamic Gr 3 -12 learning event which highlighted and celebrated Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) on April 30 and May 1.
STEAMFest is a grassroots event for students run by teachers, who donate a great deal of time and effort into putting this unique learning experience together.
STEAMFest was held at Red River Community College Polytech – Manitou A Bi Bii Daziigae, in the Exchange District. The event showcased the incredible learning of students as they demonstrated their knowledge, creativity, and problem-solving skills through participation in interactive projects, displays and hands-on workshops. The two days saw over 1200 students participate in learning, offered close to 100 workshops for registration, and hosted countless student volunteers, who contributed by running interactive displays throughout the event.
Education Minister Tracy Schmidt and Red River College President Fred Meier were able to attend the kick-off of STEAMFest 2025 for a tour of all the event had to offer.
A special thank you to Red River Polytech staff for their generosity, support and collaboration in making STEAMFest 2025 such a powerful learning experience for SOSD students, and providing the opportunity for students to see the education possibilities that exist for them as future learners post high school graduation.
