ATAM - Aerospace Training at Maples

A new program at Maples, ATAM introduces students to two occupations - Gas Turbine Overhaul Technician and Aerospace Machinist.
Partners include The Canadian Aviation Maintenance Council, Standard Aero, Apprenticeship Manitoba, Red River College, and various machine shops in the city.
GTO techs strip, clean, inspect, rebuild and test jet engines in a state of the art facility in a team environment.
Aerospace Machinists are in high demand, and are capable of forming high tech parts out of exotic metals.
Both trades are expected to grow in demand as the aerospace industry increases capacity due to increased flying and personnel retirements.
Students will learn theory in class and put it into practice in the industry. This course does not follow the usual CVE format but it gives students the opportunity to try out two different occupations in a shorter time period.
Applicants must have Senior 4 Math or English, and a complete Senior 3.
