Bibliographies are easy!!
Let me show you how!
You've been assigned an essay and your teacher has told you that you that she expects it to be "properly referenced! HUH?
Remember!
-
If the information didn't come straight out of your head OR it isn't common knowledge, then the source must be given credit.
- The purpose of a works cited page or bibliography is to allow the reader of your paper to find the information/materials that you used in writing your paper. Your job is to provide it clearly and openly.
-
There are several different styles when referencing sources. The one you will probably use is called MLA style. (You should check with your teacher if you're not sure.)
-
Check your sources by looking for who wrote the information, especially if it's online. (Do you really want to quote the author of a second grade science project?)
-
Keep track of your sources as you go along.
