Summer School

The Seven Oaks School Division is offering a Summer School opportunity for students who have studied a specific course and wish to upgrade their skills in order to improve their skill level or obtain a credit. In order to register for the academic courses, a minimum mark of 35% must have been obtained previously and permission from the school principal must be given.

Wednesday, July 2, 2008 to Friday, July 25, 2008

Times


Period A: 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Period B: 10:40 a.m. to 1:10 p.m.

Registration


Students who are residents of Seven Oaks School Division may register at their home schools, until Friday, June 20th.  All registrations after this date must be in person (with payment and authorized application) at the Summer School Office.:

May 27th - June 26th                            8:30 a.m. -   3:00p.m. (closed 12:30 - 1:00)
June 27th, 30 and July 1st                    8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
                                                                   
Registration forms will be available in high school guidance offices May 21st. Registrations will be accepted beginning May 27th. 

Students who are not residents of Seven Oaks School Division may register in person, beginning May 27th,  at the Summer School Office (I.T. Centre) - 2nd Floor, Maples Collegiate. (Please see above office hours.)


PAYMENT OPTIONS:

Payment may be made by cash, money order or cheque, made payable to Seven Oaks School Division.  We also accept Visa, MasterCard and Debit Card in person at the Summer School Office.  If paying by credit card, (VISA or Mastercard) students can also print off the registration form  below ( 8 1/2 x 14 paper) and fax it to Summer School 2008 at (204) 927-3705.

Summer School 2008 Registration form will be available for printing May 21, 2008.

Registration Fee


$140.00 - for *residents of Seven Oaks School Division applies to each full credit academic course for which you wish to register.
(*Resident - defined as a student whose permanent residence is within the boundaries of the Seven Oaks School Division.)
$200.00 - for non-resident students

Payment in full is required prior to start of class. No post-dated cheques beyond June 27th, 2008.

Refund Policy


80% of fee when requested in writing within three days of commencement of summer school. No refund will be given after three days.

Eligibility


Students must have previously taken the course and obtained a minimum final mark of 35% or granted permission by their school principal.

Attendance


Summer School runs from Wednesday, July 2,  2008 to Friday, July 25, 2008.

Students are expected to attend class every day. Unexcused absences will result in withdrawal from the course. No refunds will be given.

Maples Collegiate is a NON SMOKING SCHOOL and this includes the surrounding property.

Textbooks


Students will be provided with the necessary textbooks by their classroom teacher. All textbooks must be returned. A credit will not be issued if textbooks are not returned.

Reporting


The final standing will be issued to the student and to the principal of the student’s school.
