Congratulations to Sherri Denysuik! She will be receiving The 2022 Guiding the Journey Leadership Award at the Indspire National Gathering Friday Nov. 25th!
Sherri Denysuik is this year's recipient of the GTJ Leadership Award.
Sherri has been an educator for more than 20 years and is the current Director of the Adult Education Centre and Indigenous Inclusion in the Seven Oaks School Division. The transition to Director of Indigenous Inclusion was a natural progression from her former role as Indigenous Education Lead in Seven Oaks.
Prior to accepting her divisional leadership roles, Sherri was a teacher and then school leader/administrator at the early years, middle years and senior years levels.
She has been instrumental in chairing the Seven Oaks School Division's annual Graduate Pow Wow Committee and works with all 26 schools and two Adult Learning Centres in Seven Oaks, helping plan relevant professional development opportunities and continuing to push the envelope in terms of decolonization, resistance and reclamation.
She sits on various provincial committees, including the Canadian Museum of Human Rights, and the Manitoba Teachers Society.
Congratulations, Sherri!
