Student Clubs
Gekeks
Gekeks is a student lead group that focuses on Indigenous teachings. The Gekeks meet after school every second Tuesday. This group is also involved in multiple field trips throughout the year. This year so far, we have had the opportunity to visit Camp Morningstar in Hollow Water First Nation, and we are looking forward to the Robert Houle workshop at the Winnipeg Art Gallery coming up shortly. This group is an indigenous student and allies group which discusses current events, school initiatives and student lead opportunities.
Gender Sexuality Aliance
ESOMS has a Gendre Sexuality Aliance (GSA) that meets once a week during the lunch hour. All are welcome.
Global Heritage Club
Day 5 - 11:35
Crochet Club
Day 3 - 11:35
Crochet Club is for anyone looking to learn how to crochet for the first time, and for those who already know and want to come hang out together. Supplies are provided, but if you'd like to bring your Work-In-Progress from home, you are more than welcome!
Crossword Club
Day 1 - 11:35
Crossword Club welcomes solvers of all skill levels to tackle puzzles from beginner minis all the way to the New York Times. Students learn about solving strategies, important words to know (era, oreo, eel, area, aloe, ace, aria, oh my!), and most importantly, chasing the "aha" feeling of an answer falling into place.
Chess Club
Day 4 - 11:35
The ESOMS Chess Hawks Club, hosted by M. Legge, will begin on Thursday, November 7. The club meets on Day 4 during the lunch period from 11:35 to 12:15 in room 30. Open to all students, the club focuses on both fun and skill development, providing a relaxed environment for students to learn and improve their chess strategies.
