Physical Education

In Physical Education, Ms. Bautista leads Margaret Park students through a variety of activities designed building physical literacy, fostering both confidence and competence in movement skills and healthy lifestyle practices. Physical literacy is about helping kids develop as a whole. It’s not just about learning and doing physical activities, but also understanding why staying active is important, how it benefits them, and building the right attitudes and habits to stay active regularly. Students in Grades 4 and 5 also have the opportunities throughout the year to participate in extracurricular divisional sports programs, which includes Cross County, Team Handball, Circulation Volleyball, 3 on 3 Basketball, Badminton, Flag Football, Tennis and Track & Field.

Divisional Activities

Cross Country Meet - Sept-Oct

Team Handball - Oct-Nov

Circulation Volleyball - Nov-Dec

3 on 3 Basketball - Jan-Feb

Badminton - Feb-Mar

Flag Football - Apr-May

Tennis - May

Track and Field - May-June

We are very excited to be offering our students with exceptionalities an opportunity to participate in Special O programming at school and in partnership with Special Olympics Manitoba (www.specialolympics.mb.ca). The Special O team meets every day and participates in a wide variety of activities designed to develop gross motor skills and foster positive peer relationships, all while having fun being active. Throughout the year, our Special O team has the opportunity to take part in the School Programs offered by Special Olympics Manitoba. This is a chance for our students to participate in quality athletic experiences while representing Margaret Park School. These extra-curricular activities include Bocce, Soccer, Basketball and Track and Field.

At Margaret Park school, we bring cultural dance into the curriculum to celebrate diversity and encourage active participation among elementary students. Through engaging dance workshops and performances, students explore a variety of cultural traditions, learning the significance and history behind each dance. These activities not only promote physical fitness and coordination but also foster a sense of community and inclusivity. By participating in cultural dance, our students gain a deeper appreciation for different cultures while expressing themselves creatively and building confidence. This program is an integral part of our commitment to providing a well-rounded, culturally rich education.
