The purpose of this course is to gain knowledge about Indigenous histories and traditions in Canada and to build bridges of understanding and respect between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians. Community connections to traditional knowledge are a vital component of this course.Topics include: the four stages of colonization, Louis Riel and the Red River Rebellion, reconciliation, Shoal Lake 40 and Inuit art.
