Students have the opportunity to be members of the Band program in grades 6, 7, and 8. Students learn to play a woodwind, brass, or percussion instrument in large and small group settings during the school day. During each part of their band experience, students will take part in a minimum of two concerts. Having completed their first year of the program, students may become members of the Jazz Band, Traveling Band, and other ensembles offered each year. Additional performing opportunities may include band and solo/ensemble festivals or concerts. The band frequently travels and performs in Brandon. They perform locally in the Winnipeg Optimist International Band Festival and the Manitoba Band Association Beginner Band Festival.
