For Mentors

On the Internship Days, our students are at their internship sites working along side their mentor. They design projects at the site to build their personal qualities and academic skills.

Examples of Met School internship placements:

Bakeries, automotive shops, daycare centers, radio stations, graphic design companies, pharmaceutical manufacturing lab, computer & technology sites, hospitals & animal clinics, renovation & construction companies, law office, Seven Oaks School Division schools, TV stations, film, and animation sites. The possibilities are endless!

Academics & Real-World Experiences Come Together

The Met School has provided many amazing opportunities to our students. Students explore their interests while making connections with worksites and careers in our community. Met School students experience the challenges of high school academic expectations with the responsibility of applying their learning in meaningful ways. Met School students embrace new ways to think about their learning, academic success, careers, and their community.

In our School Plan we have defined goals, measurable outcomes and strategies that will further enhance our teaching practices and the opportunities that Met School provides for our students and families.

The Met School and Student Engagement

Met School students will develop their confidence and competence and be engaged in their learning by:

  • Demonstrating their academic learning in multiple ways (portfolios, exhibitions & reflections on learning).
  • Demonstrating academic growth with competence in curricular outcomes and skills.
  • Their daily work and assignments, projects, and exhibitions of their work.
  • Demonstrating their passion and commitment to their academic responsibilities.
