  • ​​​​The office opens at 8am
  • Supervision for students begins at 8:15am outdoors
  • Students will enter the school at 8:25am
  • Rivière-Rouge will have an opening capacity of 400 students, with a capacity for expansion to 550 students
  • The Entry Commons will serve as the hub of the school, by being open to the Learning Commons/Library, adjacent to the Gym and Mini-Gym, and linked to the classroom wings on each floor
  • Each learning community has a shared Multi-Purpose space, for activities or projects
  • Rivière-Rouge will utilize geothermal heating for energy efficiency, including in-floor heating throughout the building for our comfort
  • A geothermal field is located under the soccer fields
  • Our Outdoor Learning Environment, consists of various indigenous plants and garden zones
  • Rainwater is captured from the roof and stored for use in toilets to reduce total water consumption
  • Elements of the building’s structure and systems are exposed, showing how they work, so that the school itself becomes a teaching tool.
  • School bus and parent drop-off areas are separate for safety considerations
