Inclement Weather
Severe Weather and Bus Cancellations
Sometimes, severe weather causes us to cancel buses. School bus transportation for all school divisions in the City of Winnipeg and the surrounding West St. Paul area is cancelled if:
- The actual temperature is -35 C (regardless of wind chill) based on the 6:00 am Environment Canada reading at the Forks, Winnipeg or;
- The wind chill reaches -45 C (regardless of air temperature) based on the 6:00 am Environment Canada readings at the Forks, Winnipeg.
All metro Winnipeg school divisions follow one system based on these rules.
We will post an alert message on the Seven Oaks School Division website home page if buses are cancelled.
Major radio stations will also announce busing cancellations. They usually broadcast cancellations about every 15 minutes. You can also check local television stations and the Internet.

If we have not announced or posted a cancellation alert, buses are running.
Please do not call our Transportation office, Board Office or media outlets. Doing so ties up phone lines. Instead, please access information as outlined above.
