Official Opening of École Mino Pimatisiwin School
Friday October 2nd we had the Official Grand Opening of our newest school, École Mino Pimatisiwin School. Mino pimatisiwin means "the good life."
As Minister Chartrand said, "it's important that we walk the good life, walk in a way that is balanced, and we do that by building healthy relationships with the people around us, that being those that came before us who are passing on those teachings. Those teachings about how to live in a good way as a good human being, and its a beautiful name for the school and I think it captures the essence of what was here and the history and how we continue to grow and develop over the generations."
And as Edward Ploszay, Chair, Board of Trustees said, "It goes beyond being just a name. It is a daily reminder of our responsibilities to truth and reconciliation: a responsibility to teach the truth, and to build the path forward together with all Canadians."
This modern building gives students and staff a first-rate place to learn and work.
"We look forward to the many futures that will begin here: the friendships, the first days, and the discoveries. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, it is my pleasure to officially welcome all students, staff and community members to École Mino Pimatisiwin." ~ Edward Ploszay, Chair, Board of Trustees
