On Thursday, December 4, 2008 Elwick Community School hosted our first family night supported through our BSSAP Grant! Our grade five classes put on a production of Stone Soup for the parents and alongside the play, classrooms opened their doors to our families for time in the classroom. Students were able to bring in their families to experience an activity after school in their classroom. Activities ranged from poetry presentations, card making, dream catcher making with Ms. Fontaine, gingerbread house making, glass ornament painting, holiday crafts, lantern making, and much more! Classrooms were open for an hour before the Stone Soup play. After being in the classrooms, the grade fives put on a wonderful production of Stone Soup. Following the performance, families were invited to eat homemade soup and bannock. This event was a wonderful way to bring our community together.
