Welcome to the Met Centre for Arts and Technology!
We are a publicly funded project-based learning high school located in the heart of the Exchange District in downtown Winnipeg. Following the Seven Oaks Met School and Maples Met School, MCAT is the third Big Picture Learning School from Seven Oaks School Division.
In the 2022/23 school year we have five classes (called 'Advisory'), two for grade 9, two for grade 10 and a grade 11/12 advisory, each headed each by an outstanding educator from Seven Oaks School Division. In the 2023/24 school year and each year moving forward we will continue to add Grade 9 Advisory until we reach a capacity of approximately 150 learners and a dozen staff. On December 10th, 2021 we held the Official Opening of Met Centre for Arts and Technology in our home at 321 McDermot Avenue. You can find details on our school, including interviews with students via Winnipeg Free Press here, CanStar News here, and CBC Radio Canada hereβ.ββ
On Tuesday February 15th, 2022, we held a virtual Open House for learners currently in Grade 8 and 9, heading into Grade 9 and 10 in the 2022/23 school year. You can find that video hereβ.
You are encouraged to also check out our website, including our eNewsletter which gives you a look into what a week at MCAT looks like, and follow us on Twitter @MetExchange. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions to william.burton@7oaks.org.
