Maples Met Student Scores 1st in Manitoba on National Physics Exam
Maples Met School student Avnoor Dhaliwal has achieved an impressive academic
milestone by finishing first in Manitoba on the prestigious Canadian Association of
Physicists (CAP) High School Prize Exam.
The CAP High School Test is a challenging, university-level physics competition
designed to recognize exceptional physics students across Canada. It encourages
students to think critically and apply advanced problem-solving skills to real-world
physics scenarios. The exam is open to high school students from across the country
who are nominated by their teachers based on academic performance and interest in
physics.
This year, 106 students from 14 schools across Manitoba participated in the exam.
Nationally, 710 students from 146 schools wrote the test.
Among this talented field, Avnoor Dhaliwal stood out, earning the top score in
Manitoba and placing 46th overall in Canada. This remarkable accomplishment
reflects not only Avnoor’s hard work and dedication, but also the strength of science
education at Maples Met School.
Avnoor’s achievement is a source of pride for the school community and a testament to
the potential of young scientists in Manitoba to excel at a national level.
