A Visit to the Prairie Theatre Exchange
Students from the 3 Met School Theatre Hub recently visited Prairie Theatre Exchange for a behind-the-scenes learning experience. The visit was organized by Maples Met student Marley, who is currently interning with the company and helped connect students with their mentors.
Theatre Hub management regularly connects students with professional mentorship through partnerships with local theatre artists and companies. Prairie Theatre Exchange, long known for its educational mandate, welcomed the group for a full tour of the facility. Students explored many aspects of professional theatre production, including costumes, props, set design, and stage management.
The offices of Shakespeare in the Ruins are also located within PTE, and Managing Director Adam Jennings has been incredibly supportive of the Met students. His guidance has been particularly meaningful as students work toward this year’s Theatre Hub production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
The visit provided valuable insight into the collaborative work that brings theatre productions to life and helped students prepare for their own upcoming performance.
