​Physical Education:

All students in Kindergarten to Grade 6 participate in Physical Education class taught by our Phys. Ed. teachers. Each student receives three 30-minute Phys. Ed. classes per six-day cycle, and one 30-minute dance class per cycle. Students are expected to wear appropriate (athletic) clothing, including indoor (running) shoes, but they no longer change for Phys. Ed.

Our school believes in a Teaching Games for Understanding (TGFU) teaching approach in Physical Education class. The TGFU teaching approach teaches students the fundamental movement skills required to participate in sports by playing games (i.e. the TGFU approach uses games to learn skills vs. the Traditional approach learns skills to use in games). Physical Education also includes extracurricular (on hold this year) and intramurals activities (during first break/recess) as well as a student leadership team.
