Parent-Child Preschool Program
Amber Trails Community School offers FREE preschool programs for parents/caregivers and their children from birth to age five who live in the Amber Trails School catchment area to enjoy together! If you have preschoolers at home, we hope you will join us at our free preschool programs.
WHAT is parent/child preschool programming?
Parent/child preschool programs are for you and your child (0-5 years) to be part of a learning environment together in our school. It is a wonderful opportunity for parents/adult caregivers to play and learn together with their child and meet other families in our community!
WHAT is the role of the parent/adult caregiver?
The role of the parent/adult caregiver is to actively participate with their child at all times during playtime, art activities, clean up and story time and to enjoy this time with their child.
HOW do I register my child for parent/child preschool programs?
Online registration for our Fall Session (October to December 2025) of preschool programs will start on Tuesday, September 9th at 9:00 am and end on Tuesday, September 16th at 4:00 pm.
All families must register and will receive a confirmation email of the one program day/time they are assigned to attend or if they are on the waiting list. You can access the registration form once registration opens by clicking the link below.
Please note, families who live in the Amber Trails School catchment area will be registered first before we can accept registrations from families who live outside of the school catchment area. Drop-ins are not being accepted.

WHY are parent/child preschool programs right for your family?
- Children and parents/caregivers have a fun time playing together and participating in quality learning activities.
- Children may meet future classmates, become comfortable in their new school environment and share experiences that are similar to ones they will have in kindergarten.
- Attending parent/child preschool programs strengthens the school/family partnership by giving children the opportunity to be a part of the school community before they attend kindergarten.
- The transition to kindergarten is eased as school is already a familiar and welcoming place. Please Remember:
- Parking: Please park along Templeton Avenue or a surrounding street. Parking is not available in the parking lot or front loop.
- Shoes: Please bring indoor shoes. Adults and children must have footwear on at all times, in case of a fire drill.
