Welcome to Kindergarten!
Registration starts February 23, 2026 for children born in the year 2021
On this page we hope to give you all the needed information to register your child for Kindergarten at Школа R. F. Morrison School for the 2026-2027 school year. Our Welcome to Kindergarten will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 from 5:30 - 6:30 pm (parents and child).

Школа R. F. Morrison School offers:
- English Program: Morning (9:00 am - 11:30 am) or Afternoon (1:00 pm - 3:30 pm) kindergarten
- English-Ukrainian Bilingual Program: Morning kindergarten (9:00 am - 11:30 am)
This is an exciting time for you and your child!
- Classes are 2.5 hours each day
- Morning classes are 9:00 am - 11:30 am
- Afternoon classes are 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Goals of Kindergarten:
- Create a positive first school experience
- Become comfortable with the school environment and routines
- Develop relationships
- Build independence
- Foster a love of learning
Is my child ready for school?
- YES! All children can be successful in Kindergarten!
- Children grow, learn, and develop at different rates. Teachers, school support staff and families will work together to meet each child's individual needs.
- Not all children know their ABCs or 123s before Kindergarten.
A day in Kindergarten may include:
- Carpet time with stories, songs, group reading, etc.
- Inquiry and play-based lessons and activities
- Play time
- Snack
- Outdoor play time
- Library, Music and Gym time (once each during the 6-day cycle)

If you are unable to register online, please come in person to complete the registration form with all documentation.

A.M./P.M. preferences help us to plan but are not guaranteed.
Bussing
The Division offers bussing to students based on many factors (i.e. distance, feeder day cares, etc.)
If you are interested in bussing, please go to the transportation icon on our school website to application. click here
The Transportation Department will be in contact with you to advise whether there is bussing available for your child and if there will be a cost associated with it.
Please be advised that transportation applications for the 2026-2027 school year will not be accepted until after April 6, 2026.
Registration Checklist
- Child must be 5 years old before Dec. 31, 2026 (born in 2021)
- Verify address with 2 pieces of ID (current utility bill preferred as one piece, & lease agreement)
- Child’s birth certificate (or passport, or permanent/temporary resident documents if from out of country). Online registration will require you to upload an electronic document. In person registrations will require these documents to be photocopied.
- Emergency Information (9 digit and 6 digit health numbers and 2 emergency contacts we can reach if we are unable to contact a parent)
- Any relevant legal documents (i.e., restrictions, protection orders, care/custody orders, etc.)

Manitoba Partners for Ukrainian Education
(MPUE) is a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion, enhancement and expansion
of the English-Ukrainian Bilingual Program in Manitoba. MPUE is the umbrella organization which provides support for the parent organizations associated with each of the schools providing the English-Ukrainian Bilingual Program (EUBP). Enrolling your child in the EUBP provides a strong connection to community, with inter-school activities that occur beginning in grade 4, with other EUBP students from across the Province. We see EUBP students develop friendships beyond just their own school. Learning another language - particularly among young children - can help your child with listening skills, improve cognitive abilities, enhance communication skills in their first language and develop a deeper understanding of culture. Parent/Child Program
The free preschool program at R. F. Morrison is for children ages 0-6 and their parent/caregiver. 
Together with your child you will participate in stories, rhymes and songs, art activities, nutritious snacks, free play and gym time. This is a great opportunity for your child to be part of our school environment, to learn and grow with their peers.
The program is offered on Mondays and Wednesdays 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

ARE YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW LOOKING FOR A PRESCHOOL FOR A CHILD AGED 2-6?
The Seven Oaks Sadok Inc. is a great way to introduce your preschooler to a new language and a school environment.
Morning Program: 9:00 A.M. – 11:20 A.M. (MONDAY- FRIDAY)
You may drop off your child as early as 9:00 a.m. Each preschooler is to bring their own healthy snack and beverage, indoor runners and as well as a picture of themselves
After Kindergarten Program: 11:30 A.M.-3:20 P.M. (MONDAY- FRIDAY)
Your child is met at their Kindergarten classroom and brought to the Nursery Program. Families provide a lunch for their child and afternoon snack daily.
