Kindergarten

Welcome  to Kindergarten!

Registration Starts: February 26, 2024 at 9:00am for children born in 2019

On this page we hope to give you all the needed information to register your child for Kindergarten at Victory School for the 2024-2025 school year. This is an exciting time for you and your child!

  • Classes are 2.5 hours each day
  • Morning classes are 9:00 am-11:30am
  • Afternoon classes are 1:00pm-3:30pm

Is my child ready for school?

  • YES! All children can be successful in Kindergarten!
  • Children grow, learn, and develop at different rates.  Teachers, school support staff and families will work together to meet each child's individual needs.
  • Children do not need to know their ABCs or 123s before Kindergarten.
  • A day in Kindergarten may include:
  • Carpet Time with stories, songs, group reading, etc.
  • Inquiry and play-based lessons and activities
  • Play time
  • Snack - students bring their own snack to school each day. Please ensure students are bringing food that they are able to eat independently. Your teacher will let you know of any allergies in the class to be mindful of when packing snacks.
  • Outdoor play time
  • Library (once during the 6-day cycle)
  • Music (once during the 6-day cycle)
  • Physical Education (once during the 6-day cycle)

The free preschool program at Victory School is for children ages 0-6 and their parent/caregiver.logo-vertical.f8fcb74349.jpg Together with your child you will participate in free play, story time, rhymes and songs and art exploration. This is a great opportunity for your child to be part of our school environment and to learn and grow with their peers.

Before & After School Daycare

Victory School has a before and after school daycare in Room 2, run by Kidi Garden Day Nurseries.  

Please call Kidi Garden daycare directly for registration and additional information at  204-338-3193 or email them at kidigardendaycare@mts.net

Seven Oaks School Division provides transportation to the following daycare centres:

Registration

Registration is online via the Seven Oaks School Division website:  click here

If you are unable to register online, please contact our school at 204-586-9716 and we will arrange an appointment for you to come into the school to complete the registration.

Families must register at their catchment school prior to requesting a school of choice.

A.M./P.M. preferences help us to plan but are not guaranteed. 

Registration Checklist

  • Child must be 5 years old before Dec. 31, 2024 (born in 2019)
  • Verify address with 2 pieces of ID (current utility bill preferred as one piece)
  • Child’s birth certificate (or hospital record, or permanent/temporary resident number if from out of country). Online registration will require you to upload an electronic document. In person registrations will require these documents to be photocopied.
  • Emergency Information (9 digit and 6 digit health numbers and 2 emergency contacts we can reach if we are unable to contact a parent)
  • Any relevant legal documents (i.e., restrictions, protection orders, care/custody orders, etc.)

Busing

The Division offers busing to students based on many factors (i.e. distance, feeder day cares etc.)

If you are interested in bussing, please complete the bussing information area on the on-line new student registration form.

The Transportation Department will be in contact with you to advise whether there is bussing available for your child and if there will be a cost associated with it.
