WEVAS
Learn the skills to work with potentially anxious, agitated and aggressive people.
WEVAS is a program designed especially for educational settings, to help develop and improve communication skills to deescalate potentially dangerous situations. It is an integral part of an overall plan to develop safe and caring environments. These skills are life skills. They can be used by care and service organizations, especially people working in the area of education. Please bring your meal, as there will not be enough of a break to eat out.

EMERGENCY FIRST AID / LEVEL A CPR (AGES 1+)
Invest one evening; learn the skills to save a life!
CPR, Level A: You will learn to recognize the signs and symptoms of heart attack and stroke and techniques to respond to cardiovascular emergencies and choking for people ages 1 and over. You will learn to use barrier device/pocket masks and how to use an Automated External Defibrillator.
EFA (Emergency First Aid) includes preparing to respond, the EMS System, ‘Check, Call, Care’, airway emergencies, breathing & circulation emergencies, first aid for respiratory & cardiac arrest and wound care.
This Canadian Red Cross Certified Course follows the New Standards of 2010.

American Sign Language
This is an American Sign Language (ASL) course that is designed for any individuals who want to improve their ASL skills and in particular parents, relatives or friends that have contact with Deaf or hard of hearing children. This is not for credit class and is also ideal for any individual who wants to learn ASL for basic communication and have fun while learning. All are welcome.
