Learners explore a range of texts, with an emphasis on texts that accomplish aesthetic purposes: texts that use language primarily to capture and represent experience, feelings or vision and to create an imagined reality. Of the various texts learners read and produce within Literary focus, approximately 70 percent are aesthetic and 30 percent pragmatic.
