The FILM for Human Rights Student Film Festival is dedicated to presenting and celebrating student films dealing with Human Rights. Film is an immensely powerful tool for exploring and sharing BIG ideas. We are very happy and proud to be able to bring these films to the public.

Screening Information

  • Date: Thursday May 23, 2024
  • Location: Maples Collegiate Theatre, Maples Collegiate (1330 Jefferson Ave.)
  • Screening Times:
    • 9:45am - 11:15am
    • 1:15pm - 2:45pm
    • 6:00pm-7:15pm

Criteria

The festival is open to students from any early, middle, senior and post-secondary schools across Manitoba.

FILM for Human Rights LogoThe criteria for submitting a film are as follows:film-for-human-rights-2022.f922db2119.jpg

  1. The films should have a Human Rights theme.
  2. The films can be any genre.
  3. The films can be no longer than 5 minutes.
  4. No copyrighted music or images are permitted.
  5. The submitted films must be made by a student currently in an academic or training program.

The FILM for Human Rights Student Film Festival is a 7 Oaks School Division initiative run in cooperation with the Canadian Museum for Human Rights and the Manitoba Association of Rights and Liberties.
