February 21st @ 8 pm at the Seven Oaks Performing Arts Centre

This year the Seven Oaks Educational Foundation is taking on a new approach to fundraising! We will be having the first of hopefully many concerts with local Manitoba talent. For our first concert event we are fortunate to be able to offer 3 very talented groups/performers. The Duhks, Double the Trouble and Sierra Noble!!

Tickets are $40 and can be purchased through the Board Office, online through HomeRoutes Network/The Crankie Festival at www.crankiefestival.com or from an SOEF Board member.

The Duhks are a folk fusion band, formed in 2002 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Featuring banjo, fiddle, guitar, percussion, and vocals. They blend folk music together with various Canadian and American traditional styles, including soul, gospel, old-time country string, and zydeco. The band also commonly plays traditional Irish dance music, integrating Latin-influenced percussion as well as often Celtic- and Cajun-influenced fiddle-playing. We look forward to seeing Jesse Havey, Leonard Podolak, Seven Oaks School Division’s own, Scott Senior!! and friends headline this spectacular show!

Double the Trouble are twin fiddlers from Winnipeg, Manitoba. These identical 15-year old Indigenous musicians along with their dad (and Seven Oaks School Division’s own Rob Wrigley!!) on guitar delight audiences with their traditional Metis fiddling and singing of original and contemporary Folk classics.

Sierra Noble is a well-known singer-songwriter and fiddle player from Winnipeg, Canada. Sierra is equally respected for her commitment to supporting youth and community. When she isn’t on the road, she is working at a local homeless shelter, a keynote speaker at numerous conferences and fundraising events, like this one for the Seven Oaks Educational Foundation.

We hope you will all be able to attend this exciting new endeavour to support the Seven Oaks Educational Foundation!
