​Who is SOEF?

SOEF is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors that establishes new scholarships, acts as a fundraising body and oversees funds.

 

Our Board includes educators, former educators, Seven Oaks parents, area business people and community leaders – all of whom have close ties to the Seven Oaks community.

Where does the money raised go?

100% of your donation goes directly to fund scholarships, bursaries and awards. Thanks to our community’s generous support network, we hand out scholarships listed under the scholarship section.

How would my donation impact a student?

Every dollar received by the Foundation goes directly towards helping Seven Oaks students pursue further education.

 

Our students come from a wide range of cultures and socio economic backgrounds with unique interests, strengths and potential. Every student displays something for us to celebrate, whether in academics, athletics, technology, trades or the arts – and you can be part of recognizing this excellence.

 

Our scholarships recognize approximately 100 students each year for their hard work, dedication and passion. On top of that, many of our recipients rely on scholarships, bursaries and awards just to make post-secondary learning a reality. Your donation will make a dream come true.

How much money does SOEF give out each year?

The total varies from year to year, depending on interest rates, number or recipients and new support. Last year, the SOEF distributed in excess of $50,000 in scholarships. Since its inception in 2001, the SOEF has awarded in excess of $300,000 in scholarships.

How does SOEF decide who gets the scholarships?

Each high school selects scholarship recipients based on criteria established by the Foundation Board, School Administration and sponsoring donors.

Does SOEF issue tax receipts to donors?

SOEF is a registered charity. We gratefully accept all donations, and issue tax receipts for donations of $10 or more.
