The FILM for Human Rights Student Film Festival received a grant from the Province of Manitoba's Teacher Idea Fund to purchase filming and editing equipment. Teachers in the 7 Oaks School Division who wish to make films for the FILM for Human Rights Student Film  Festival can access this technology. The 7 Oaks School Division will post a booking schedule for teachers wishing to use the equipment. Teachers wishing to use this equipment MUST attend the teacher workshop.

Teacher Workshops

As part of the FILM for Human Rights Student Film Festival,  the Festival will provide teachers in the 7 Oaks School Division with filmmaking-in-the-classroom workshops. These workshops will cover the basics of classroom film production from storyboarding to filming to digital editing techniques. These workshops will be conducted by experienced film educators and will take place at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights and at Maples Collegiate. These workshops will be supported by 7 Oaks School Division as professional development days. The date, time and details for the teacher workshops will be announced shortly. Camera and editing technology provided by the Teacher Idea Fund will be used for these workshops.
