Living in Winnipeg

Manitoba is not only the geographic centre of Canada – it’s the heartbeat of the nation in many ways.

Our province is home to some of the country’s best scenery.

Winnipeg residents can travel from a cosmopolitan city to cottage country within an hour and our Interlake region features hundreds of sandy beaches. We also have many geographically and geologically vast provincial parks and Riding Mountain National Park, which features a unique array of wildlife amid a vintage lodge atmosphere.

The cost of living in Manitoba remains among the lowest in Canada.

Housing is affordable, with a viable housing market and an average first-time homebuyers’ purchase price of $226,000. Winnipeg is also experiencing a climbing apartment vacancy rate for the first time in years and average rent for a two-bedroom apartment is a very affordable $1045.

Manitoba also makes it affordable to raise kids in our province, with some of the lowest daycare rates in Western Canada and an abundance of before-and-after school programs housed right in Seven Oaks schools.

Did we mention the food and entertainment scene?

World-renowned restaurants, big-ticket bands (from right in our own backyard) and some of the nation’s best theatre all live here!

Winnipeg has something for everyone. And it could be your future home.
